Jon Sundt- President & CEO, Altegris Investments
Jon Sundt has more than 24 years of experience in the alternative investment industry. He co-founded the Altegris group of companies, and is President and CEO of Altegris Investments, Altegris Advisors, and Altegris Funds. Jon is a member of the Altegris Investment Committee as well as a co-portfolio manager of the company’s family of mutual funds, including the Altegris Managed Futures Strategy Fund (MFTAX) and the Altegris Macro Strategy Fund (MCRAX).
Jon began his career as an options trader in 1986. Prior to co-founding Altegris, Jon served six years as Director of Managed Accounts and Senior Vice President of the Managed Investments Division of Man Financial, a subsidiary of the Man Group – the world’s largest hedge fund provider, based in London and listed on the FTSE 100. An expert in Managed Futures and alternative investment strategies, Jon is widely quoted by leading financial media and a variety of industry publications.
In his leadership role for the Altegris group of companies, Jon also champions the development of leading-edge productivity tools for professional and individual investors, applying the skills he gained while studying computer science and economics at the University of California, San Diego.
Jon is an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and Vistage International. He is also the Founder and President of the Sundt Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to preventing substance abuse among today’s youth. Jon actively participates in the Vistage Chief Executive Coaching Program, a program designed to enable business leaders to gain fresh perspectives, test ideas, overcome obstacles and seize opportunities to generate results.
Matt Osborne- Executive Vice President, Director, Altegris Funds
Matt Osborne has more than 22 years of international business and financial market experience. As a co-founder of the Altegris group of companies, an Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Altegris Advisors, and a Director of Altegris Funds, Matt is responsible for Strategic Initiatives. He is a member of the Altegris Investment Committee, responsible for qualification, approval and on-going review of all investment strategies and managers on the Altegris platform. Matt is also a co-portfolio manager of the company’s family of mutual funds, including the Altegris Managed Futures Strategy Fund (MFTAX) and the Altegris Macro Strategy Fund (MCRAX). Prior to co-founding Altegris, Matt was Director of Research for the Managed Investments Division of Man Financial.
Matt had a 12-year career with a preeminent family office in his native New Zealand. In his role as Investment Manager, he was responsible for formulating investment policies and implementing a global asset allocation program that specialized in alternative investment strategies such as hedge funds and Managed Futures. He also gained significant trading expertise in foreign currencies, stocks, fixed income, global futures and options.
Matt actively participates in the Vistage Key Executives Business Coaching Program, a 14,500+ member organization that serves as the world’s foremost executive leadership association.
Dick Pfister, CAIA®- Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Altegris Investments
Dick Pfister has over 17 years of alternative investment experience. He is an Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Altegris Investments, where he leads global sales and client services. Dick is also a Director of the Altegris Funds and is a member of the Altegris Investment Committee.
Dick began his career on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a technical analyst and trader. After trading in the currency and stock index futures markets for several years, he managed the Global Macro CTA Trade Desk for Dean Witter Reynolds.
Later, he joined Man Financial, leading the growth of International Traders Research Inc. (now a member of the Altegris companies) to its preeminent role of providing dedicated Managed Futures data services. In June 1998, Dick was appointed Institutional Research Executive at the Man Financial Managed Investments Division, a role he held until joining Altegris in 2002.
Dick is an inaugural member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Association and earned the first-ever Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) designation in September 2003. The CAIA is a specific designation that distinguishes individuals who are best qualified in dealing with alternative investments.
Dick actively participates in the Vistage Key Executives Business Coaching Program, a 14,500+ member organization that serves as the world’s foremost executive leadership association.
Dick holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of San Diego.
Bob Amedeo- Executive Vice President, Director, Altegris Funds
Robert Amedeo has over 30 years of legal expertise in the financial services industry. As a co-founder of the Altegris group of companies, an Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Altegris Advisors, and a Director of Altegris Funds, Bob is responsible for Business Development.
Bob began his legal career at the Securities and Exchange Commission. He subsequently joined a Chicago law firm where he specialized in securities and commodity law. After withdrawing from the firm as a partner in 1985, he remained “Of Counsel” until co-founding Altegris in 2002.
In 1985 Bob also co-founded and became the President of Rockwell Futures Management, Inc., the predecessor to Altegris Funds, and became the President of Rockwell Investments, the predecessor to Altegris Investments.
Amedeo is the past chairman of an advisory committee to the North American Association of Securities Administrators (NAASA). He has acted as a member of the NFA Hearing Committee and is currently the Chairman of its CPO/CTA Advisory Committee.
Bob is a 1975 graduate of Northwestern University and received a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University in 1978.
G. Maxwell Eagye- Director of Futures Operations, Altegris Investments
Max is the Director of Futures Operations for Altegris Investments, and a key member of the ManagedFutures.com team. Max joined Altegris in 1998 and is responsible for all aspects of Altegris's Futures and Trading business, including strategic relationships with Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs) and service providers, oversight of trader and client services, and tracking of communication and cost flows.
A native San Diegan, Max gained experience in 1988 on the floor of the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange (CSC) in New York while with B&J Commodities, and later in 1989 worked on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) in grains, for the firm Rodman & Renshaw.
Max graduated from California State University, Chico in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Finance and holds his NASD Series 3 certification. Max is part of the Altegris Trade Services Group, which provides support and consulting services for CTAs and CPOs.
Mike Lock- Manager, Trade Services Group, Altegris Investments
Mike Lock has over seven years of industry experience and is the Manager of the Trade Services Group. He joined the Altegris in 2005, and specializes in CTA servicing, management of FCM relationships, forensic accounting, cost control, execution services and client account analysis. Mike began his career working as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley specializing in portfolio analysis and construction with private clients.
Mike graduated with honors from UC Davis in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy. He holds the designation NASD Series 3 and 31 certifications.
